Biography

Ryan Yee is an active participant in the Singapore music scene, playing in ensembles such as The Philharmonic Orchestra, Re:mix, Spot Pocket Opera and the Singapore Lyric Opera. He has also performed several recitals in Bangkok and appeared as a soloist with the Siam Ratchadapisek Chamber Orchestra from 2010 to 2011. During his national service, he performed regularly with the Singapore Police Force Band and was featured in prominent solos during the World Police Band concert in Myanmar and the Halifax Royal Nova Scotia International Tattoo.

In 2013, Ryan was a prize winner in the Intermediate category of the Thailand International Strings Competition and the Strings category of Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts’ Music Essentials Concerto Competition.

Born in Singapore and raised in Thailand, Ryan was awarded scholarships for his studies by the Lee Foundation and the Oversea-China Banking Corporation. He was a student at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts and the London Royal College of Music where he performed with the NAFA orchestra and the RCM Symphony orchestra under the baton of notable conductors such as Lim Yau, Ashley Solomon and Sir Antonio Pappano.
